Jacob

Well as most of you know Jacob has arrived safely and quite loudly into this world. He is a joy to have in our lives. I am so blessed to have him and he just reminds me why we are all here. I didn't get as many pictures this time around as I did with Ben since kids under the age of 12 were not allowed in the hospital so that means my family wasn't able to be there. So James did the best he could with taking pictures along with helping me out.
Photobucket
Here is a pic of Jacob on the weight scale. James almost forgot to get a pic of him on there. I had to remind him. "Oh yeah!" Was the response I got.
Photobucket
Thought this was funny...Nurse said she was surprised he didn't do anything yet and when she cleans him up...Yeah he had something done then. HAHAHAHA serves her right. Still cute though.
Photobucket
Tragic part over now it's time to get wrapped up. He looks so much like Ben. Wow!
Photobucket
Dr. Hall, James holding Jacob and myself not really wanting the pic taken especially with what the doc just put me though....not to pleasant and it hurt and I'm not talking about the birthing.
Photobucket
My nice doctor....Dr. Hall
Photobucket
James celebrating....just kidding, he's drinking cider.

Ok, so that is what I have right now...I have other pics but I am just trying these out for now. I haven't added pictures before and I will take the time later to explain about what the doc put me through. Ben is getting fussy and Jacob is getting fussy so I better get going. I can type and feed Jacob but I would just like to hold him and stare at him. What a miracle babies are.

Counting Down

I am getting so excited......We have it approved through the doctor that if Jacob doesn't come on or before the 8th of October we will induce on the 9th. I thought that would be great then he would have a birthday of 10-09-09....Just like Ben has one 12-07-07. Neat how that works out. I am seriously back into working with the Girl Scouts again and it has made me so happy. It has been nice to get out of the house every so often. Life has been made a little easier since we finally got our federal refund back. This year we will be able to get a Christmas gift and birthday gifts for everyone. I have felt really bad about it in the past but I am glad to be able to do something this year. James has been looking for a job for quite some time and has had interviews but nothing has panned out. I am really praying that this interview that he had this morning will work out. He needs to work and I know it bothers him that he can't provide for his family. Ben is growing like crazy... It is amazing how not to long ago I was just giving birth to him and he could fit on the length of the arm. Now he is sitting here on my lap helping me type. What a big helper! Yeah! Zach, Mary & David are doing really well now also. I also have them at my house. What a fun cozy place my small house has turned into. Everyone is in scouting and Zach also plays the clarinet (and I admit he is pretty good and I enjoy listening to him). Oh one other thing James is going to become a French Horn teacher for private lessons. That will also bring in some extra cash. That will be a great help, plus that is something that he will truly enjoy doing. Well I guess that is all for now. When the new baby is born I will let everyone know and post pics also. Have fun!

Ben Update

Here is just a little update. I don't have much time so here it goes. On Friday the 31st we had an appointment at Primary Childrens Hospital for Ben at the Fast Track Seizure clinic. We got there in plenty of time. The doctors did a lot of questions and were worried about the big "seizure" and the small little ones that he had through out the week. They decided to do an EEG on him. Wow that took forever to get Ben to sleep. He was so scared. I tried laying next to him after they got all the electro discs and wires all over his head. 26 in total. They used a whole thing of gauze and tape just to keep it on. It reminded me of someone who had brain surgery. Anyway, Ben would not go to sleep he was still scared even with me laying next to him. James tried laying next to him and that still didn't work so I tried again. While I was laying there I got tired of it all and I sat up then picked him up and held unto him. I rocked him and sang to him and he finally fell asleep. When he fell asleep I started crying it was all hitting me so hard that something was wrong with my little guy and he has to go through all of this at such a young age and there wasn't anything I could do for him. I rocked him for 30 minutes while they did all the testing including a light strobe test. All of these tests came back as normal....How frustrating. We spent 6 hours down there and we drove back home extremely tired. So no actual news but they want us to keep an eye on him and if he has another one we have a script to fill and give him. Then we have to go back in a month after starting the meds.
So that day is over and the next day goes by without incident and then.....MY BIRTHDAY!!!! Aug 1st. I got to do just about anything I wanted to do on Saturday. I surprised James by saying I only wanted waffles for breakfast. I had decided I wanted to have a BBQ for lunch. I invited my family over even though my brother couldn't make it. The cake we used was one I had to make for my cake decorating class that I made on Wednesday. It turned out great. I will have to put pictures on the next blog. I am signed up for the next session. So in 4 weeks I will post a pic of the next cake. I also did some errands for Mary to get ready for camp. Needless to say all in all it was one of the best birthdays I have had. Thanks to my family and my loving husband for the great time. I will write more later. See ya for now.

Getting closer....

Well this summer sure has been passing by fast. Right now my kids are on their way back from visiting their grandparents and dad down in Texas. Boy I have sure missed them and will be really glad to have them back. Ben had a situation on Thursday. I called his doctor and was told to take him down to Primary Childrens Hospital. They did blood work and an EKG. They wanted to have a 19 month old hold still to get a good read out. HA! Very funny. At the end all the test results came back normal but they were thinking he was having an abscence seizure. It happened also while we were there. So now we have to call the Fast Track Seizure Center on monday to schedule an appointment with them to get him looked at. The new baby is growing according as he should. We still don't have a name picked out yet, but I am going to ask the kids when they get back. They don't even know they are going to have another baby brother. Boy are they going to be sad. They really wanted a baby sister. Oh well. I have an appointment on the 29th for the glucose test and the stupid rogam shot. Not looking forward to that. Hopefully this baby will be A-, but knowing my luck he will be A+ like all the others. Ok well that is the update that I wanted to let everyone know about. Getting closer for my kids coming home and the new baby. I don't have an actual due date for him, more like a due period. October 8-18. Doctor and Ultrasounds can't make up their minds.

Time flies

Just like my sister-in-law said in her blog I am horrible with updating everything. Ok so as most of you know I am expecting another boy...this will be number 4 boys and 1 girl. We have thought of us some names but we aren't to sure. What we do know is we want to have the name Jacob somewhere in the name. We have gotten some ideas but we still aren't sure. Here are some of the names.

1- Alexander Jacob Potter
2- Jacob James Potter
3- Isaac Jacob Potter
4- Timothy Jacob Potter
5- Fredrick Jacob Potter

Those are just the ones I can remember at this moment. Anything else sound good to you? If you have any ideas it would be great to hear them. My next ob visit is on monday and I am afraid that is when I will get that blasted shot...the rogram....yikes. I hate that shot. Every single kid has been the different type of blood so I have had to get the shot twice for each pregnancy. Yes I am A- and all the kids have been A+....I am hoping that this one will be different. Keeping fingers crossed. Well here's wishing everyone a happy 4th and a very safe summer. It has been great to just relax with the kids gone....boy do I miss them though. I will try to do another update later. I do have current pics of Ben and the new baby on my facebook site if anyone would like to see them.

Kinda sad

Well I know it has been a while since I blogged.....so here goes.

Mary had her science fair and got 1st play and then went to district. She got a silver medal in her group. I am so proud of her. She is also in the school play called Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. She is part of the chorus, but she is happy about it. Again, proud parent. Zach is starting to do better. He is still having problems with turning in homework, but I think we have gotten that taken care of. Plus he is in scouting now and he seems to be doing better since he has more boys his age to goof around with. David is also in scouting and loves it. He is working so hard on getting his stuff done so he can advance. I am hoping the kids will get back into their sports again. Mary and Zach still have the other half of their soccer to do so it will get busy again. Mary also got her goal of 500 boxes of GS Cookies plus some. She did so much more than that. Now it's just delivering them. UGH!!!! At least they only come once a year.

Now the rest of us....

Ben is almost 15 months. Wow time has surely flown by. He is going to be getting his second to last shots before the age of 2. Right now he isn't doing to well. He is starting to get a fever and I hope he isn't going to be like his daddy. James was really sick for 2 days...high fever, throwing up...the works. He ended up missing work for those 2 days. That's not going to help us with our financial woes.....anyway! Me...I am pregnant but so far I haven't gotten sick due to pregnancy. I have been feeling yucky lately and I have also started to get a fever. UGH!!! This is not cool. I had a doctor appointment scheduled for tomorrow, but had to cancel that and move it back 3 weeks since I don't have the medicaid approved yet. What a nightmare. So come tomorrow I will be 8 weeks pregnant. I am getting unemployment since I was fired and the state said I didn't do anything wrong. Way to go State! At least something happened fast with the state. I am really hoping to get to see the doc soon since I am not sleeping and I have been having problems with circulation. For some reason my legs and arms go numb for no reason at all, it's actually quite annoying. When I do get to the doc hopefully I can get an ultrasound and post a pic here. Oh one final thing. A very good friend of mine came up from Arizona to visit and it was really great to see her again. I am hoping to see her and her family again when they come back up in the Summer. Great seeing you again Jenny!!! Take care of those beautiful kids. Ok well I'm off. I am going to shower and lay down hopefully break the fever so I won't be sick tomorrow. Take care everyone. Cheers!

Happenings

Well a lot has happened since I last blogged...first off my daughter got a part in the school play!!! Yeah, plus she also got 1st place in her science fair!!! Now she gets to go to District and try to place there. I am so excited and proud of her. I just wish I wouldn't keep getting bad reports on the boys, but they are doing good stuff also that I'm proud of. Zach also did a science fair project and even though he didn't win, he did a good effort...and he's in cub scouts and seeming to do a good job there. I have a wish that he will go through scouts and get his Eagle. That would be so great. I know he's only a Weblo (spelling? I'm to tired) right now, but he seems to be enjoying it. David is also in scouting he just moved up to Bears. I also have the same wish for David. He was at school the other day and he wasn't feeling good and wanted to come home. My mom told him that if he came home he wouldn't be able to go to scouts since it was scout day. He decided to stay at school because he wanted to go to scouts....Yeah!!! I was so happy to hear that. Mary is working on getting Girl Scout Cookie orders. She wants to get at least 500 boxes. So any help here would be great. If you order we can ship them, we have done it before and we will do it again.
Work is really kicking my butt....We opened up on last Wednesday on the 14th and I haven't had a day off until this wednesday the 21st. Plus I also worked before the store opened and I also worked up at the other store in Harrisville....So that means I haven't had a day off since the Saturday the 10th....what a long time to go without a day off...Now monday the 12th I didn't get paid for, but I still worked about 3 hours in the store to help get it ready and tuesday I got paid for then the rest of it I did also....wow...so now my schedule will be as follows....M & T 4- cl, Wed off, Th 9-3 or 4, f & Sa 4-cl, Su 10-12 then later on at night so I can do inventory...that is what my schedule will pretty much look like from now on. I will get Wednesday off. Well at least it's one night off and not 7 days straight anymore.
Ok now let's talk about Ben...he is growing up so fast. I have some pics of his 1st year pictures and he is just so cute. I know all mothers think their child is cute, but he is because everyone keeps telling me that also. Now I know some people will lie to the mothers just so they don't hurt their feelings, but I have never gotten that feeling. Ben hasn't quite got the handle of walking on his own yet, but he is working on it. He walks along things and will walk if you are holding his hands, but not by himself yet. I am hoping he will start to do that soon. My favorite character of my son is his eyes and his smile....His eyes are so beautiful, they are a steel gray and turn blue occassionally...and his smile just lights up a room especially with his laugh. He has a cute smile like his sister and a laugh that's as contagious as his brothers...Plus he's also got the lighter hair like his two older siblings. Not quite as blond but still blond the same. Ok well I think I have written enough and I'm done bragging about my kids....Hope to see you soon.

Godfathers

Well here goes another round with Godfathers. When I worked for them I was working at the Clinton store primarily, but occassionally I would work at the Harrisville store and the Syracuse store. The Harrisville store had my former manager that I worked under in Clinton until her store opened. Then the new manager took over Clinton and I just didn't like the way the store went after that. About the time I was quitting the Harrisville store was sold to another person. John (the owner) was starting to have financial problems... who didn't? Anyway, he sold that store to Reed. During the time that I was gone from Godfathers John declared Bankruptcy and all the store that he owned had to shut down. So Every store in Utah except the Harrisville store was closed. I went back to work for Godfathers after my in-laws left and I have been back for about a month. Now when I went back I was told that the new owner was going to reopen the Clinton store and I would be going back there when that did happen....Carol who I absolutely adore and can work with is going to be the manager of that store and I am going to be her assistant. I am so excited. I love my little Clinton store and I can't wait to get back into it. We are susposed to open the doors on either tuesday or wednesday of next week...so I only have a few more days up at Harrisville before I will be at my store again. Carol has been inside the store already and has started preping it for us to open....the previous manager didn't take care of anything before the store closed down...there was still food in the make table...yuck!!! That food has been sitting there for over a month!!! I am going to try to do a better job this time around and not let anything get to me personally. We need me to have this job...yes I know I will have to work 7 days a week for a bit until we get a crew up and running, but it will be worth it in the long run...I hope my hubby sees it that way to. The only thing I don't like about it is the fact that I will be spending a lot of time away from home, Ben and him again....but at least I am closer to home and they can come visit me. Well I need to get going....Have things to do...2 more days of work at Harrisville then play time! Wish me luck!

Special Sayings

My mother-in-law gave me a wonderful gift that I really like. This gift is a beautiful vase that has a heart around the neck of it...on the heart it says...A year of wishes for my Daughter-in-Law...I have read one note each day and I plan on doing that each day until the end of the year. I love some of the things I have pulled out of the bag. Here are the first three sayings...
1- What it comes down to is that anybody can win with the best horse. What makes you good is if you can take the second or third best horse and win -Vicky Aragon
2- You have blessed my life with love.
3- I love you THIS MUCH!

Each time I get done reading them I fold them and put them in the vase. For some reason this gift has touched me more than any of the other gifts I have been given. My husband didn't think I liked it, but I do. I just think that it's amazing that "I" can actually have a mother-in-law that likes me. I feel so blessed to have my husband, my son and in-laws that actually care for me. My life is so full with them in it along with the rest of my family. Yes they drive me nuts but they are still my family. I love all of my kids and I hope that someday I can have more and that the next kid is a girl especially for my daughters sake. I was looking through a website my husband sent me the other day and I noticed something interesting about the kirkland temple and I want to find out about it.....the site said that it's no longer owned by the church....?!?!?!? I have other questions also, but he knows about those and I still haven't got a satisfactory answer to those....maybe someday I will.....but oh well I guess that will just have to wait. Well hopefully my kids will be here soon since my parents have to leave for work. I praise God and thank him everyday for my life, my husband, my kids and my family. My life is so blessed and sometimes I just can't see it and get so wrapped up in the petty things. I'm hoping to get better with that. Wish me luck! On my next blog hopefully I can post a pic of the vase so you can also see how beautiful it is.
